Here are 3 pieces I created for the short Sci-Fi film called Mouse. The film is about a man waking up in a building with no idea where he is or what he is doing there. After crawling through a man sized mouse hole in the wall of the room he wakes up in he discovers he is not alone, and the occupants look very familiar.
Mouse is created by Justin Tagg and you can find more information about the film by clicking HERE

I’m back working on my Blade Runner Rick Deckard painting. Background is getting filled in now. I’m painting in a dark rainy cityscape from the film.

I think this is finished now. This is Miranda on Illium. Miranda is a character from the Mass Effect series of games. The background scene is from a balcony overlooking a city on Illium, a planet that features in Mass Effect 2. Facial reference from images of actress Yvonne Strahovski were used. Yvonne is the actress who played the voice of Miranda and the character is also modelled on her likeness in the games.
I started off with a pencil drawing of the character. Once scanned onto the computer I painted in the rest. When playing Mass Effect 2 there are many WOW moments when you take in the scenery. For me walking around the city on this planet I would spend a lot of time looking over the balconies onto the cityscape below. Bioware did a really good job on the visuals here! The reason I have done this painting is in appreciation of Mass Effect, the artists behind it and the beautiful Yvonne Strahovski. I couldn’t really go wrong making this one look pretty
I’m creating a larger wallpaper version for people to download to use as their desktop background this weekend

SFX magazine has released a Zombie Special today packed full of features and goodies related to the undead.
One feature entitled “I walked as a zombie” was written By Ian Berriman who was a zombie on the same days as me. The article describes the day Ian had as a zombie extra, from start to finish.
The picture below taken from the magazine shows our zombie group from the bank robbery scene. I’m the one at the back in the bloodied beige jacket.

Continuing on from the Rick Deckard sketch, here is the painting so far based on that sketch. This is an oil painting A4 size. This is now starting to look like a 1982 Harrison Ford from the film Blade Runner.
I had been struggling and nearly ripped it up earlier in the process as it was strangely looking like Mel Gibson but I’m glad I didn’t give up on it as a few more hours of work has started to produce a better likeness.

Rick Deckard - Blade Runner sketch
Ridley Scott has signed up to produce and direct a new Blade Runner movie. The news brought me to watch the original movie (Again), and draw a Deckard sketch which I will paint soon.
This is HB mechanical pencil on thick watercolour paper A4 size. Not decided whether to use watercolour or transfer to canvas for an oil painting yet. Watch this space…
