SDCC 2012 – Part 3

I met the inspirational Felicia Day again, the first time was at the Starfury event in London earlier this year. It was at that event I was introduced to her work and discovered what a hard working, funny and down to earth person she is!

Don’t throw away that scifiartist.com card I gave you! lol 😀 I’ll be doing a Felica painting in some shape or form very soon so watch this space!

Earlier in the day I’d been to the Geek & Sundry panel. There was a big queue to get in and even then I missed the start and was stuck at the back, However it was a very funny panel and worth the wait!

SDCC 2012 – Part 2

I attended a quite a few talks and panels.

Jonathan Ross was involved in an interesting panel discussion about the writing process. It turned into an entertaining interview with other guests appearing in turn, followed by a Q&A session. Beards were compulsory 😀

I attended 2 panels at the Nerd HQ organised by Zachery Levi, star of Chuck.

Sadly my pictures of Lucy Liu, RZA & Dave Bautista are all blurred. After the panel they did a poster signing for the film.

Seth Green and the Robot Chicken team also did a Nerd HQ panel which I attended.

The Buffy 20th anniversary was packed out. There was a lot of girly squealing at James Marsters and Nicholas Brendan dropped an F-bomb!

SDCC 2012 – Part 1

SDCC 2012 was as hectic as expected. I return from San Diego motivated with new ideas. I’ll talk about those later but for now here are a few pics from San Diego Comic-Con 2012.

I accidentally hit a pigeon on the road. Sorry pigeon. A couple of years ago it was a rabbit or 2.

Eliza Dushku Batman Year One

Sadly I didn’t get to meet Eliza Dushku face to face in San Diego to thank her for posting my artwork on her Facebook page. However I did get some pictures from the crowd, just before the signing for Batman Year One began at the Warner Brothers stand. Eliza plays the voice of Catwoman (Selina Kyle) in the upcoming animated movie.

It would be nice to see the pics or video she took of us with her iPhone 🙂

Seth Green gave me a Ben & Jerry’s

Last week I saw Seth Green in San Diego giving out free goodies from an ice cream van. Here is a snap of him handing over a tasty treat to me. Thanks Seth, it was just what I needed on a hot day at SDCC!

In addition to appearing in many of my favourite Films & TV shows Seth is the voice of Joker in the Mass Effect series of games which I am also a big fan of!

Scifiartist T-Shirts

I’m thinking of whipping up a few T-Shirts to wear at Comic-Con with the scifiartist logo/website on them. Don’t know whether to go a step further and add some artwork but I like these simple easy to read mock ups illustrated below.

First batch of photos uploaded

San Diego Comic-Con 2009 – I had the opportunity to look around the convention centre before the Preview night began so I took a few photos of the various companies setting their stands up. It was nice to look around freely and get my bearings before the mad crush of people arrived. Thanks to Stephen Robson for getting me into the convention centre early.

I’m back

Down the escalator after registration

I’m back from San Diego and my first trip to Comic-Con. I met a lot of generous and talented people and received a lot of good advice. Still trying to catch up and get my sleep pattern sorted out.

I’ll post some of the many photos I took this week. There was so much to take in it was impossible to see and do everything but I did the majority of things I set out to do.

I imagine many people took the same photo as I did above. This is coming down the escalator after registering and picking up my pass.
