I’ve added a page for my Sci-Fi comic book: Mekkeneyes. Click on the image below to go there.
For now here’s the artwork from the first page to give you an idea of the style. It’s greyscale to save time and costs. I like the way it looks so far. It’s different for me as I’m so used to doing colour work and painting that it’s took some getting used to doing things with black outlines comic book style.
I started this a while back and realised I was being too much of a perfectionist trying to paint in every detail which is a slow process, but now I think I’ve got a style I’m happy with and can produce in good time on a regular basis.
Wow time flies, can’t believe how long it’s been since I last posted. Fear not though I have been very busy with artwork, I just haven’t posted it here yet.
I’ve been working on a graphic novel, that means writing as well as illustrating it and I like where it’s going. Whether anyone else will like it we’ll see once I get it out there.
I’ll maybe post some concepts here and some pages but it has it’s own site ready and waiting for content to arrive. The story is called Mekkeneyes and I’ll post some background on it in due course.
Here’s the logo for the story.
Here’s how my Star Wars episode 7 painting is coming along. Almost there now! Just some details and tidying up to do.
Here’s another work in progress oil painting. This is an aging Ewan McGregor version of Obi-Wan contemplating his solitary existence in the Jundland wastes of Tatooine.
Here’s a different part of the oil painting showing Captain Phasma and a Stormtrooper. I’m nearly finished now and will post the whole painting soon.
As it’s May the 4th what better thing to paint than something Star Wars related. This is Kylo Ren one of the bad guys from the New Star Wars film The Force Awakens due out at the end of this year.
I’ve avoided any major spoilers so far but like the look of the new characters. This painting will show some of the new Stormtroopers and the Chrome Trooper when complete.
This is an Oil Painting on oil paint paper.
Here’s a sketch of the Millennium Falcon being chased by a few Tie Fighters. As The Force Awakens trailer shows the Falcon with it’s new dish I thought I’d draw it 🙂
I did this in my A5 sketchbook using pen and markers.
The new Star Wars The Force Awakens trailer was great! This brought me to rummage through my paintings and check out what Star Wars stuff I’ve done in the past. Here’s a photo of some strewn on the floor 🙂
Gonna be doing some more soon.
I’ve revived my Han Solo episode 7 painting. It’s been a long time since I put paint to canvas. This is a work in progress.
